Pixar Is Not Going To Remake Their Classics Movies

Disney has been making live-action remakes over the past years and some of the greatest hits at the box office are Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and Lion’s King which give us hope that they will continue making the movies and there are also upcoming movies like a Moana, Lilo and the Stitch and a Lion King 2 will be on the theaters at the 2025.

Live-action remakes excite the fans so much but the current Pixar failures of Onward, Seeing Red, and Luca are the reasons that they are not doing the same things as Disney does. Pixar’s chief creative officer told Time that they shouldn’t hope for the remake of Ratatouille or any other Pixar hit and fans are also confused about this statement

“This might bite me in the butt for saying it, but it sort of bothers me,” Docter explained. “I like making movies that are original and unique to themselves. To remake it, it’s not very interesting to me personally.”

Disney is going to do the remake but Docter says that animation doesn’t belong to the real world.

“So much of what we create only works because of the rules of the (cartoon) world,” he said. “So if you have a human walk into a house that floats, your mind goes, ‘Wait a second. Hold on. Houses are super heavy. How are balloons lifting the house?’ But if you have a cartoon guy and he stands there in the house, you go, ‘Okay, I’ll buy it.’ The worlds that we’ve built just don’t translate very easily.”

Docter says that he is not fond of remakes but of sequels. His strategy going on the great success as we can see Inside Out 2 has done a blockbuster job at the theatres by passing $2 billion worldwide. More sequels are coming to us which include Toy Story 5 and The Incredible 3 then how can we expect remakes from Pixar?

They work according to a business point of view“Everybody says, ‘Why don’t they do more original stuff?’ And then when we do, people don’t see it because they’re not familiar with it,” Docter explained. “With sequels, people think, ‘Oh, I’ve seen that. I know that. I like it.’ Sequels are very valuable that way.”

“We do have a sort of guideline or guardrail that if we get a certain way in it’s not feeling like it’s about something new and substantive, then we’ll cut bait,” Docter told Fandango. “So, it’s imperative that something feels like, ‘Oh, this is furthering the story!’”

Well, we got to know that Pixar is not in that zone of remaking the classic but they are going to make more original movies it is also because of the backlash Disney is facing due to Snow white’s remake that going to be released on 21 March 2024.

People are criticizing the movie in the trailer and comparing it to the original saying that Disney should not spoil their nostalgic movies by making weird remakes.
