Brazil Banned X: Berg Is Not ‘Acting In Accordance’ With The Supreme Court

According to the recent news, it went viral over the internet in which everyone is talking about the ban of X which is formerly known as Twitter, in Brazil. This strict action is taken by the one of the biggest Supreme Court of Brazil.

Everyone is talking about why it banned the platform, as reportedly this action is taken after multiple failures to act in accordance with the court to delete the hate speech and misinformation spread by the X.

What News Does the Court Want Mark Zukerberg To Delete?

The court basically wants to delete the misinformation promoted by the X in the 2022, during the Brazil’s election. As per the court norms, the content is violent, rather than this, the data is also misleading and the speech promotes hate for the Brazilian presidential election.

The action is taken by numerous warnings, at first the authorities told Mark to delete all the negative information available over his platforms, but he neglected the orders and the content is still there.

Resulting in the ban of X in Brazil, the strict action is taken by the Government after 2 years. A large community of Brazil, more than 9 Billion people mostly used X to stay connected with the news happening around the world, although the restriction to the platforms makes them feel disconnected with the world.

Brazil is one of the biggest markets for X, with tens of millions of users, as mentioned above. It is largely popular social media platform like facebook and Instagram. After restricting this, people find themselves lagging not only with the political news but also with other related and unrelated data.

Damage To Reputation

The action in which Brazil banned the X is going to majorly impact the reputation of this largely used platform, having a total of 619M users, calculated in 2024. The number is obviously a very large amount. The restriction from Brazil will surely impact the number as 9 Billion people from Brazil used to run X.

Rather than this, the response from the side of the Supreme Court would be considered as an example or ideal decision, whenever the same happens with some other nationality, then it would be quite easier for them to do the similar action.

He further wrote, “This Threads algorithm is like an all-you-can-eat restaurant where the waiter keeps serving things I would never order.”

Not only the users, the celebrities are also adding their views about this incident, even Cardi B said “Wait a lot of my fan pages are Brazilian!!! Come back hold up!!,” She added this on friday.
